Sweep — swipe to clean your camera roll

Email contact@arktik.tech — we usually reply within one business day. If you’re reporting a problem, tell us your iPhone model, your iOS version, and what you were doing when it happened.

Where did my deleted photos go?

They’re in Photos → Albums → Recently Deleted. iOS keeps deleted items there for about 30 days before removing them for good — this is Apple’s behaviour, not ours, and it’s your safety net.

Your storage does not go down until that album is emptied. Open Photos, go to Recently Deleted, and choose Delete All. The Sweep screen after a clean-up has an “Open Photos” button that takes you straight there.

I deleted something by mistake. Can I get it back?

Yes, as long as it’s within about 30 days. Open Photos → Albums → Recently Deleted, select the item, and tap Recover.

Inside Sweep, before you confirm a deletion, nothing is gone: tossed photos wait on the Review screen, and tapping any of them there marks it to keep instead. While swiping, the Undo button brings the last card back.

Why is the freed-space number sometimes shown with a “~”?

A “~” means the figure is an estimate. Sweep reads the exact size of each file on disk in the background, but some files — for example ones still stored in iCloud — can’t be measured instantly, so the app estimates their size from the image dimensions instead. Once the exact size is known, the number updates on its own.

Why does Sweep need access to all my photos?

Because its whole job is to show you your library, month by month, and delete what you choose. If you grant access to only some photos, Sweep can only show you those — it has no way to see the rest.

Sweep never uploads, copies, or analyses your photos anywhere. It has no server and makes no network requests of its own. See the Privacy Policy for details.

You can change the permission any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos → Sweep.

I’ve run out of free swipes

The free version includes 50 swipes per day; the counter resets at midnight, your local time. Sweep Pro removes the limit entirely — yearly with a free trial, monthly, or a one-time lifetime purchase.

I bought Pro but it’s not showing, or I got a new phone

Open Sweep → Settings → Restore purchases. Make sure you’re signed in to the App Store with the same Apple Account you used to buy it. If it still doesn’t appear, email us with the date of purchase and we’ll sort it out.

How do I cancel a subscription?

On your iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Sweep → Cancel Subscription. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription.

Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us — request one at reportaproblem.apple.com

Can I sort my photos again after keeping them?

Yes. Sweep → Settings → Review kept photos again puts every month back to unsorted. Photos already waiting in Review are left alone.

The app is slow to open my library

Sweep reads metadata for your whole library on first launch — for very large libraries, tens of thousands of items, that takes a few seconds. It reads only metadata, never the images themselves, and it doesn’t download anything from iCloud. Pull down on the home screen to rescan.
